PURPOSE:To obtain a conversion function for printing speeds by providing a data conversion processing function to lower dot densities during the high-speed printing mode period for characters or image data during the usual printing mode period. CONSTITUTION:A register 20a is housed with dot data of row of (a), for example. In a register 20b, also, since ''0...0'' is set as initial data FD, data of the same condition as in dot data of row of (a) are output from EX-OR circuit 21 and housed in a register 22. When data in the register 22 are given to AND circuit 23, dot data of row of (a) are sent out as printing data pattern DP2 after conversion. In this case, the printing data pattern DP2 is also sent to the register 20b and housed. Since dot data DP1 of (b) row are housed in the register 20a, dot data pattern in which dots 40a-40c adjacent to dot data of (a) row are deleted in the dot data pattern DP1 of (b) row are sent out from the EX-OR circuit 21 and housed in the register 22. |
