PURPOSE:To attain to miniaturize the titled apparatus and to enhance the maintenance thereof, by employing constitution such that a part of a material to be transferred is lead out of the apparatus main body when the material to be transferred is reciprocally moved with image formation. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus main body 1, a ribbon storing part 7 for storing a roll shaped thermal transfer ribbon 6 as a transfer material in a delivery possible state and a ribbon wind-up part 8 for successively winding up the thermal transfer ribbon 6 delivered from the ribbon storing part 7 are provided. The thermal transfer ribbon 6, which is wound around and delivered from the roll (winding core) 9 of the ribbon storing part 7, is guided between a platen roller 4 and a thermal head 5 while successively trained over first and second ribbon guides 10, 11 and subsequently folded back from the platen roller 4 through a third ribbon guide 12 so as to be abruptly spaced apart from said roller 4 and, thereafter, wound up by the roll (winding core) 14 of the ribbon wind-up part 8 in a state trained over a fourth ribbon guide 13. Therefore, an excessive space is dispensed with as compared with one wherein a guide path is provided in the apparatus main body and the miniaturization of the apparatus and the enhancement of maintenance thereof are attained. |
