Arrangement for signalling on railway tracks

The invention relates to an arrangement for signalling on railway tracks. In place of signals, location code transmitters which transmit their location code to a passing traction unit are provided at the railway track. The location code is transmitted to a central operating station via railway radio. The said station determines which signalling criterion is present at the centralised control point for the corresponding location code and transmits the signalling criterion to the traction unit via railway radio. Preferably millimetric waveband transponders without power supplies are used as location code transmitters.
