A bobbin holder (1) with a pivotably mounted creel (2) has on each of its two supporting arms (3a, 3b) a freely rotatably mounted tube plate, of which one (7) possesses a centring extension (10) receiving the bobbin tube (5), axially next to said centring extension at least one yarn-catching device (12), and a bearing extension (11) surrounding a bearing journal (18) concentrically and projecting towards the supporting arm (3a). Said bearing extension is surrounded concentrically over some of its axial length by a sleeve-like part (15) provided on the supporting arm. The bearing extension (11) is provided, in its region not surrounded by the sleeve-like part (15), with a circumferential groove (16) for the winding of the overhanging free yarn end (FE) not grasped by the catching device (12, 13, 14). <IMAGE>
