The invention relates to a troughless scraper chain conveyor for loading and conveying won minerals in an underground mining operation. The chain band (5) of this scraper conveyor can be tensioned by moving back the drive station (4) by means of thrust-piston mechanism (15). The tensioning of the chain band (5) enables the scraper conveyor to be operated against its actual working direction.
