In the case of the proposed electronic-mechanical switch two switching contacts, which are moved mechanically and are connected in series, are connected in parallel via a capacitor and a discharge resistor to form an electronic switch, in this case a triac. During switching off, the anode current flows for longer than the control current in time. In this way, the current which would otherwise occur as an arc in the mechanical switching contact is taken over by the triac and disconnection is enabled which is largely arc-free.
