PURPOSE:To perform the continuous real time analysis of biochemical components without sampling body fluids, by performing the guidance of laser beam to a multiple total reflection (ATR) prism for a specimen and an ATR prism for calibration and the reception of beams therefrom through an optical demultiplexing circuit and an optical multiplexing circuit both of which are operated in synchronous relationship. CONSTITUTION:An optical demultiplexing circuit 28 and an optical multiplexing circuit 32 are synchronously changed over by a timing control circuit 33. By these circuits, the guidance of laser beam to an ATR prism 10 for a specimen closely adhered to the surface of the tissue of a living body and an ATR prism 30 for calibration immersed in a calibration solution is alternately performed while the residual laser beam, not absorbed with biochemical components, from the prism 10 and the residual laser beam, not absorbed with the calibration solution, from the prism 30 are alternately received by the beam receiving part 36 of a measuring and operating part 34. Because it is unnecessary to collect body fluids, biochemical components are continuously analyzed in a real time on the basis of the beam receiving signals of the beam receiving part 36. |
