The screening sheath (10) for flexible flat-ribbon cables (29) consists of an inner and an outer screening device (11) and enables each of the flat-ribbon cables to be held in a separate intermediate screening space. These intermediate screening spaces are formed by the inner screening device (12), which is folded like an accordion and consists of flexible material which either contains a conductive screening material or consists thereof. The outer screening device (11), whose one longitudinal edge is mounted on one of the two longitudinal edges of the inner screening device (12), has an outer layer (15) consisting of flexible non-conductive material, which is connected to an inner layer (16), consisting of electrically conductive material. A closure, consisting of two interlocking closure edges (18, 19), is fitted on the outer screening device (11). This closure can easily be opened if required, unimpeded access to the intermediate spaces for the flexible flat-ribbon cables being made possible. <IMAGE>
