The invention relates to a high-voltage, high-power fuse having full-range properties, in which the retaining wire within a firing-pin device is selected in accordance with the requirements of the retention force for a powerful spring of 50-120 N, irrespective of the electrical values of the fuse. In consequence, a reliable switching process takes place via the downstream-arranged load circuit breaker in the event of excess currents above the rated current and below the Imin of the fuse. In a development, the electrical supply lead to the retaining wire which melts through can be provided with zener diodes or the like, which are connected in reverse-parallel, as a result of which the magnitude of the response current can be predetermined exactly in order to trigger the load circuit breaker with particularly reliable cutting-off properties in this critical current range.
