PURPOSE:To obtain a device which is capable of executing easily the designation of an IPL device without using a physical address, and also abounds in its extensibility, by simplifying and designating the IPL device by an offset quantity, etc. to a reference physical address. CONSTITUTION:An IPL device is selected by combining a reference physical address and a device number. Device numbers #0, #1, #2 and #3 are set to feed an offset quantity or a relative address, for instance, in case a physical address is a base. Accordingly, the physical address of an optional IPL device can be derived easily by a kind of machine, a device number and the reference physical address, therefore, so that it can be selected and executed as an IPL device. The knob position of an IPL device setting switch can be displayed by a kind of device and a number such as FPO #0, DSK #3, etc., therefore, an operator recognizes easily the correspondence to an actual device, and changes easily the setting. |
