PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent recording medium by a printing means, by using a transparent recording material having a surface capable of being dissolved in or wetted with a high boiling point solvent of formula I, wherein (m) is 2-7 and (n) is 2-3, and a visible ray transmittance of not lower than 80%. CONSTITUTION:The high boiling point solvent of formula [I] is, for example, a low molecular weight polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol. A composition comprising as a main constituent a resin capable of being dissolved in or wetted with the solvent is applied to a surface of a transparent base (e.g., by coating), and while maintaining the transparency, characters or figures formed on the surface by a printing means are fixed. Therefore, the composition and the resin must have excellent transparency. The resin may be, for example, a natural resin such as shellac, cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, polyacrylamide or the like, and the transparent base may be a transparent synthetic resin film, a transparent paper or the like, preferably, one having a visible ray transmittance of not lower than 90%. |
