PURPOSE:To perform an overlap writing with a single scanning by using a heat generating head having two continuous head sections. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating head 1 is pressed on a recording paper 4 through a trans-thermo ribbon 2 and perform a recording scanning from the left to right. After the heat generating head 1 moves to the right limit, with the return thereof, the trans-thermo ribbon 2 is reeled up to the left while the recording paper 4 is fed by one line and then, operation is shifted to the recording on the subsequent line. Two head sections 11 and 12 successively provided on the heat generating head 1 perpendicular to the scanning direction of the head each have a width enough to cover one line. The head sections 11 and 12 are made up of a plularity of heat generating elements H1-Hn formed in one row and used separated into two parts thereby allowing the overlap writing with the head section 12 after a line is written with the head section 11. |
