An arrangement is proposed for the adjustment of universal joint shafts (1), especially universal joint shafts for automotive vehicles. The shaft (1) is held with one of its ends on the side of the differential in a torque-transmitting manner in a synchronizing slide joint (2) and is connected, with its other end extending away therefrom, located on the wheel side, with a further joint. The hub (4) of the synchronizing joint (2) is axially displaceably connected with the universal joint shaft (1), a frictional coupling element (7) with a defined retaining force (FH) being arranged between the shaft (1) and the universal joint hub (4).
