PURPOSE:To retrieve and identify a fault occurring point without stopping the operation of a system to improve the operating rate and transmission efficiency of a network, by utilizing the confirmation of the return of a confirm signal and general communication. CONSTITUTION:In the operation of a processor 4 in a node 3, packet data contain a transmitting address and destination address and, when an optional node 3 properly receives packet data and unless it is in an abnormal condition, the optional node 3 returns reception confirming data to the transmitting node 3 within a specified time. The transmitting node 3 checks whether the reception confirming data are returned within the fixed time or not and, when the data are not returned, repeats the transmission for a fixed time. When the data are not returned even when the transmission is repeated for a fixed time, the transmitting node 3 judges that the optional node 3 is in fault. Then the transmitting node 3 informs all other nodes 3 of the fault by general communication. |
