PURPOSE:To eliminate a contour picture by clearing the value of a picture element for constituting a connecting component assigned to an area number corresponding to the contour part of a body to be inspected and eliminating the picture of the contour part from a picture data. CONSTITUTION:When a variable density picture data is supplied to a central operation processor 20, a conversion processing part 21 stores it at every corresponding picture element in the variable density picture data store area 22 of a storage part 22. The conversion processing part 21 extracts a connecting component counecting plural adjacent picture elements from a binary-coded picture data, and assigns an area number. The conversion processing part 21 reads out successively a picture data stored in a connecting component data store area in accordance with a prescribed sequence, and clears the gradation value of the constituting picture element of the connecting component of an area number ''1'' to ''0'' in accordance with the contour part of the body to be inspected 12. Subsequently, the conversion processing part 21 supplies the read-out picture data at every picture element to a data converting table area 226. |
