PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and sharpness by incorporating a specified compd. in a color photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The color photographic sensitive material can be enhanced greatly in sharpness but not too much in sensitivity by incorporating a coupler represented by formula I in which A is a coupler residue to be cleft at the A-O bond by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent; B is a bonding group incapable of reacting with the oxidation product of a color developing agent and releasing (L)n-D until the cleavage of the A-O bond; L is a bonding group incapable of releasing D until B-L is cleft; n is 0 or 1; D is represented by formula II, III, IV, or V; X1 is a 1-4C aliphatic group optionally substd. by alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, hydroxy, or the like, or phenyl optionally substd. by hydroxy, alkoxycarbonyl, acylamino, or the like; X2 is an aliphatic group, halogen, or the like; m is 1 or 2; and the total C number of m X2 is <=8. |
