PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism with no use of a fluid rotary coupling, by holding a work fixing member to be pressed by means of restoring force of a resilient member, in the case of a chucking device for simultaneously turning a shaft or cylindrical work from its both end sides. CONSTITUTION:A chucking device is operated in such a way that a work D is positioned, at the left end part thereof, by a supporting member 31 of a main spindle 33 so as to be clamped by a chuck 28 from the peripheral side. By this action, a movable member 27 is pressed leftward while a fixed member 39 or the like is pressed leftward through a guide rod 19, so that the chuck 28 is pressed leftward along a conical pat 40. And when the work D is removed, pressurized fluid is supplied from an inlet/outlet part 16 into an actuator 6. In this way, a piston 17 is moved rightward while the movable member 37 or the like is pressed rightward, so that the chuck 28 is moved rightward. This device, using no fluid pressure for tightening the chuck to be fixed, enables a mechanism to be simplified. |
