PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic cork stopper at low cost with thick skin layer constituted by foam of high water absorptivity, water retention and wear resistance, by dispersing water-absorptive polymer in flexible resin followed by expansion. CONSTITUTION:The objective cork stopper can be obtained by dispersing (incorporating) (A) 100pts.wt. of a flexible resin (ethylene-methyl methacrylate copolymer) with (B) 2-100(pref. 5-30)pts.wt. of a water-obsorptive polymer (e.g., saponified product from vinyl ester/ethylene unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer, crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol) followed by expansion, using 0.1-10 pts.wt. of foaming agent, by a factor of 0.5-3. |
