PURPOSE:To elevate the heating density with a small wiring density by a method wherein two rows of heat generating elements are shifted by 1/4 pitch from each other to perform a recording with a recording head diameter half as much as the pitch to accomplish a recording with a double heating density. CONSTITUTION:In heat generating resistors 11 and 12 arranged parallel at a space D, respective electrodes 13 and 15 are arranged at a fixed pitch Q while shifted by Q/4 pitch from each other and common electrodes 17 and 20 are alternately arranged therebetween to be connected to the power source 19 through switching elements 14 and 16 and 18 and 21. When the switching element 14 and 18 only are turned ON, the shaded parts of the heat generating resistor 11 are electrically energized while when the switching elements 14 and 21 are turned ON, the non-shaded parts thereof are done. The other heat generating resistor 12 is electrically energized likewise to accomplish a recording with double heat ing density. Thus, the heating density can be elevated regardless of a small wiring density to facilitate a higher density. |
