PURPOSE:To obtain a chucking method which is capable of machining a rotor shaft with a high degree of accuracy, in a rotor shaft grinding process, by chucking a turbine rotor which is conventionally unstably held, with the use of a safe and film holding measure. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic turbine 1 is inserted in reinforcing material hardening dies 4a, 4b, and L.M.P. alloy 5 is cast into the dies and hardened therein to form a reinforcing material 5a around the outer peripheral section of the turbine rotor. Binary alloy of tin and bismuth is preferably used as the L.M.P. alloy, whose melting point is in a range of 100-150 deg.C. The cylinder which is made of the L.M.P. alloy formed around the outer peripheral section of the rotor is surely chucked by a chuck, and thereafter, the outer surface of a ceramic rotor shaft 2 is ground by a grinding stone to obtain highly accurate dimentions with which the rotor shaft 2 may be shrinkage-fitted. Then the cylinder is disposed in melting dies to be heated upto 100-150 deg.C so that the L.M.P. alloy is removed. |
