PURPOSE:To access various resources in a network without notifying the presence at all and access a desired resource while being identified alternatively by using a name of various resources managed decentralizingly in each device to access them totally. CONSTITUTION:In obtaining a file to be accessed, the presence of a file having a file name is inquired about all the devices managing an inter-network file. When the reply is sole one, since it signifies that only one file with the said name exists in the network system, an access request to the device having the file. When plural files having the file name exist in the network, since it is discriminated to which file among the plural files having the same name is to be accessed, the attribute information of each file received with the reply is displayed on a terminal device and when the file desired to be accessed actually is identified, a number given uniquely in the menu is designated. |
