PURPOSE:To halve the bit rate of a signal exchanged by a broad band switch by separating a CMI code signal into an NRZ code signal having a half bit rate and a clock signal including a frame signal and passing respectively them through an exclusive broad band switch. CONSTITUTION:The CMI code signal is converted and separated (11) into the NRZ code signal having a half bit rate and the clock signal including the frame signal, the separated NRZ code signal and clock signal are inputted respectively to the exclusive broad band switches 12, 13, both the broad band switches are controlled entirely identically so as to attain exchange, and the NRZ code signal and the clock signal after the exchange are converted and synthesized (14) again into the CMZ code signal. Thus, the bit rate of the signal through the broad band switches is decreased by utilizing the reduction of the bit rate by a half produced by the CMI-NRZ code converstion, thereby decreasing the signal delay time and eliminating waveform deformation. |
