PURPOSE:To remove a guard band and to increase track density by making two main magnetic poles having different azimuth angles each other to the direction of track width to correspond to every adjacent tracks. CONSTITUTION:A pair of main magnetic poles 1a, 1b constituted of magnetic bodies formed like films have azimuth angles theta which are respectively equal to positive and negative angles to the width direction of parallel and guard bandless track 9a, 9b,.... Magnetic exciting cores 4b, 4c are formed unitedly with a magnetic core 5. The main magnetic poles 1a, 1b are constituted so that equal magnetic flux density over the width direction of the tracks 9a, 9b,... is obtained. When a part of a head H is overlapped to the track 9a to reproduce a signal on the track 9b, only the magnetic pole 1b is excited. The azimuth angle of the main magnetic pole 1b coincides with recording pattern of the track 9b and does not coincide with that of the track 9a. Therefore, the signal on the track 9a is attenuated and is not reproduced. |
