PURPOSE:To attain economically data exchange between data terminal devices via an exchange by realizing a connecting procedure for line exchange using 6 control lines. CONSTITUTION:The data terminal devices DTE1, 2 are a personal computer, a word processor and a host computer. Each terminal device 1 is provided with data transmission functions and reception functions under specified electric conditions of an RS232C. The DTEs are connected to a data terminal side interface device 2 and an exchange side interface device 3 to be connected to the exchange 4.
