PURPOSE:To attain automatic object tracking with a single television camera by reading a video image signal from only a part of image pickup face and combining a pattern recognizing function and a control function in the read range. CONSTITUTION:When an object 61 moves in a direction shown in the arrow, the values of a1, a2, b1 and b2 are changing. The values of a2, b2 are increased to the movement of a component approaching a camera 63 and the values of a1, b1 are decreased, then a microcomputer checks the values of (a2-a1) and (b2-b1) and when the values are increased, it is detected that the object 61 is approached and when decreased, it is detected that the object 61 is parted, and the values of ranges x1, x2, y1, y2 are controlled so as not to change the size of the object. |
