PURPOSE:To control a current large than a conventional photo current by utilizing the Denver effect so as to impress photoelectromotive force to the gate of a field effect transistor. CONSTITUTION:The photoelectromotive force V is produced at the boundary between a light irradiated part and an unirradiated part by the Denver effect produced by providing the unirradiated part 12 of a photo conductor 12. In impressing a voltage to a switching wire 14 via an insulation film 3, a depletion layer is caused in the unirradiated part 12a covered by the wire 14 because of the field effect and a switching function is provided to the part 12a by applying a voltage stopping the diffusion of electrons or stopping the voltage and the picture element is scanned by utilizing it.
