PURPOSE:To cool a phosphor discharge tube by a cooling wind from the rear by providing an opening for ventilation between the base of the phosphor discharge tube, which is bent into a nearly U-shape while said bent face is made into the luminous display part, and an envelope which surrounds said discharge tube. CONSTITUTION:Both base parts of a phosphor discharge tube 1, which is bent into a nearly U-shape, while said bent face is made into the liminous display part 2, are connected and fixed to a nearly rectangular base 3. Further, its surroundings is surrounded by an envelope 4, in which the front irradiation part 5 is faced to both display parts 2 and a phototransmissive cover 6 is set up while holding waterproofness, and its lower end part is fixed to the base 3 while forming an opening 7 for ventilation between the inner peripheral face of the envelope 4 and the outer peripheral face of the base 3. Then, the display elements are arranged on a lighting display board or the like while being engaged and fixed in numbers on the fitting part 11 and blown by a cooling wind from the rear and said cooling wind being exhausted from the ventilation part 8 through inside the envelope 4. Accordingly, lighting can be performed while holding the discharge tube 1 always at a proper temperature with the stable properties. |
