PREPARATION OF SUBSTANCE HAVING FLOCCULATION ACTIVITY

PURPOSE:To enhance the productivity of a flocculation activity substance at low cost, in culturing a flocculation activity substance producing microorganism, by using activated sludge or the extract thereof at least as a part of a culture stock material. CONSTITUTION:Activated sludge is pasturized and used as it is or used as the main stock material of culture after mechanical crushing treatment or partial hydrolytic treatment due to an acid or alkali is applied to said sludge or effective components are further extracted from the treated sludge. A small amount of usually lacking nutritive substance is added to take nutritive balance and a microorganism having the production capacity of a flocculation activity substance is cultured by using the obtained culture medium. After culturing is finished, a fungus body is removed from the culture broth and the obtained culture solution is used as a flocculation activity substance solution as it is or after concentration. The flocculation activity substance may be used after isolation.
