PURPOSE:To give gradation to a line printer by comparing a data read from a memory with a reference signal repetively for the number of times of gradation, transferring the result to a shift register and latching it. CONSTITUTION:A memory 6 reads when a control signal 10 is at ''H'' and writes a signal when the control signal 10 is at ''L''. In taking the number of gradation as 2<n>, the pulse width conversion in the unit of 2<n> times step is performed by applying one write and 2<n> times of read to a data in n-bit during the repetitive time of one period. The data in the memory 6 is compared repetitively for number of times of gradation with a reference signal of a reference signal device 7 at a comparator 8, and when the data value is larger, an ''H'' signal is fed to a shift register 12 and when smaller, an ''L'' signal is fed thereto. After the end of data transfer, the data is latched by a latch 13. Thus, gradation is given to a line printer operated by an IC driver 15. |
