PURPOSE:Cell bodies of a microorganism or their treated product is used as an enzyme source to effect high-efficiency production of a corresponding S- nucleosidyl-L-homocysteine from a specific nucleoside and homocrysteine. CONSTITUTION:A nucleoside selected from 8-aza-9-deazaadenosine, nebularin and others and homocysteine are brought into contact with each other in an aqueous medium in the presence of cell bodies of a microorganism in Aerobacter or Agrobacterium capable of synthesizing a corresponding S-nucleosidyl-L-homocysteine from the above-mentioned nucleoside and homocysteine, e.g., Aerobacter cloacae IAM1221 or their treatment product to collect the resultant S-nucleosidyl-L-homocysteine. |
