PURPOSE:To simplify the driving method and to attain low power consumption by using a scanning circuit comprising resistive gate electrodes. CONSTITUTION:When a sawtooth wave Rv repeated at the period of vertical scanning is applied, the vicinity of a vertical scanning electrode Lvj beneath a photoelectric converting section P1j is conducted, and when a sawtooth wave Rh repeated at the horizontal scanning period is applied, the conductive position near a horizontal scanning electrode LH1 is moved right from the left, and a signal charge of the photoelectric converting section P1j is read to a signal transmission line SHi as a time series signal. Then the vicinity of the vertical scanning electrode Lvi beneath the photoelectric converting section P2i is conductive, the conductive position near the signal transmission line LH2 is moved right from left according again to the sawtooth wave Rh and the signal charge of the photoelectric converting section P2i is read to the signal transmission line SH2 as the time series signal. The signal charge of all photoelectric converting sections Pij is read by repeating the operation mentioned above. |
