PURPOSE:To enable precision control of the cell thickness of a large-sized liquid crystal body or a liquid crystal display body with which flexible base plates are used by scattering very small spacers and very small members to be joined to electrode base plates in the effective display region of a pair of the electrode base plates to seal a liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:Very small joining members 8 consisting of an acrylic, epoxy or silicone resin to be joined to a pair of glass or flexible plastic base plates 1, 2 by softening or melting at a certain temp. and very small spacers 7 which are not softened and deformed at said temp. are scattered in the effective liquid display region between said base plates 1 and 2 and thereafter the plates 1, 2 are joined by heating via a sealant 3; at the same time, the members 8 are joined to both plates 1, 2. A liquid crystal material 5 is injected therein and thereafter an injecting hole part 4 is sealed. The thickness of the liquid crystal layer of the large-sized liquid crystal display body and the liquid crystal display body with which the flexible base plates are used is thus precisely maintained and the excellent display is obtd. |
