PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which is stable to temp. and has a large reproduced signal by forming a vertically magnetized film of cobalt or ferrite via a manganese alloy film on a light transmittable supporting base plate. CONSTITUTION:A photothermomagnetic recording medium layer 18 consisting of an Mn alloy such as Mn-Bi, Mn-Cu-Bi, Mn5-Ni2-Bi4, Mn-Al-Ge, Mn-Ga-Ge, Mn-Ti-Bi or the like is formed on a transparent nonmagnetic base body 17 consisting of a transparent high polymer molding or glass, etc. A vertically magnetized recording layer 19 such as a vertically magnetized film consisting of a cobalt alloy such as Co-Cr, Co-V, Co-Rh, Co-Ru, Co-Os, Co-Re, Co-Cr-Ti, Co-Cr- Ta, Co-Cr-W, Co-Cr-Mo, Co-Cr-Nb or the like or a vertically magnetized film consisting of barium ferrite is further constituted thereon. |
