<p>A medical syringe includes a safety device to limit the pressure at which the contents are ejected to prevent danger on discomfort to the patient. The nozzle of the chamber containing the substance to be injected is designed so that the enlarged end of the injection needle can be fitted over it, and flexible sleeve is also fitted over the nozzle, preceding the needle, with its ends secured by adhesive. During injection, when the injected substance reaches a certain pressure, the force of the substance is sufficient to inflate the sleeve, thus limiting the pressure, and also providing a visual indication. In another design, for a catheter, a branch member is incorporated between the nozzle and the catheter, the side outlet incorporating the pressure indicator and limiter.</p> |
