<p>PURPOSE:To perform translation into Japanese in accurate word order by discriminating the kinds of words of an input English sentence and discriminate on the pattern of the English sentence automatically, and rearranging Japanese equivalents on the basis of the discrimination result according to the sentence pattern. CONSTITUTION:When English sentences in the 1st-the 5th patterns are inputted, input English words are searched for successively by a searching circuit 5 to write Japanese equivalents, attached information, etc., in the RAM in a sentence pattern discriminating circuit 3, which discriminate on whether verb data is present in an attached information area or not by the operation of a translation key to write English word of a verb having the verb data and its Japanese equivalent in a predicate verb register 7. The part preceding this verb is regarded as the subject, and the English word of the subject and its Japanese equivalent are written in a subject register 6. Then, a discrimination on the kind of the verb is made on the basis of kind data on the verb to discriminate on a verb in each sentence pattern, and a flag is set in the sentence pattern area of the register in a sentence pattern discriminating circuit 3 to supply discrimination signals V- I to a word order selecting circuit 4.</p> |
