PURPOSE:To increase the life of starting friction engaging element, by limiting a half engaging condition of the friction engaging element to the initial section of a stroke in a throttle pedal. CONSTITUTION:A creep preventing means Mc, which variably controls the transmission capacity of a starting friction engaging element C1 substantially from zero in accordance with the level of an index representing the output of an engine E, is provided on the half way of a hydraulic operating fluid path 41a for supplying hydraulic operating fluid to a hydraulic cylinder 40a of the starting friction engaging element C1. In this way, the starting friction engaging element C1, being placed in a half engaging condition in only the initial certain section of a stroke in a throttle pedal, is enabled to rapidly increase the engaging force and eliminate the slip in the stroke of the throttle pedal beyond said initial section. Accordingly, the starting friction engaging element can be promoted to increase its life. |
