The device is installed in a vertical press of known type in which the two portions of the mould are one rigidly connected to the base and the other mounted on a slide which moves on horizontal guides 2, 3 while being actuated by a piston 7 or by a rack. After injection, the press opens and the product remains joined to the top portion of the half-mould 9 which is then pushed outwards outside the zone of the press. Extraction devices 12, 13 cause the moulded product 10 to fall and consecutively a mechanical gripper 24 is introduced beneath the half-mould 9, catches hold of the sprue and extracts it, thus allowing the return of the half-mould 9 under the press and the implementation of a subsequent injection operation. Application to the production of industrial articles, such as shoe soles. <IMAGE>
