PURPOSE:To allow a line termination circuit to change over automonously the phase from a call connecting phase to a data phase by providing a character detection circuit, a specific character collating circuit and a selector. CONSTITUTION:Data not through a timing index circuit 9 in a signal from a line MODEM to an exchange is selected by a multiplexer 12, where the data is multiplexed in the call connection phase. On the other hand, the data not passing through a timing index circuit 9 in the signal supplied from the exchange side to the line MODEM is selected by a selector 3. The specific character collating circuit 2 performs the transit to the data phase during this time, and when the collation circuit 2 confirms the coincidence of the confirming characters, a collating signal is outputted to the selector 3 and the selector 3 selects a communication path 11 of the circuit 10. The data to the exchange is switched similarly in the multiplexer 12 and the communication path 7 is selected. |
