<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as an antiulcer agent, etc., by subjecting a novel specific dicarboxylic acid derivative having protected carboxyl and amino groups to reductive amination reaction with a specific amine, e.g. histamine, and removing the protecting groups and decarbonating the resultant compound. CONSTITUTION:A novel substance of formula II (X is a protecting group of the amino group; Y is a protecting group of the carboxyl group) obtained by protecting the carboxyl and amino groups in a compound of formula I (m is an integer 2-5) is subjected to reductive amination reaction with a compound of formula III (n is 1, 2, or 3) by the conventional method to afford the aimed compound of formula IV. The resultant compound of formula IV is then subjected to the removal of the protecting groups and decarbonation reaction to give the aimed compound of formula V, expected to have various physiological activities, e.g. antiulcer, antithrombotic and antifungal action, etc., and useful as an intermediate for various imidazole compounds in a large quantity by the industrial production process.</p> |
