The antenna is of the type comprising, above a reflector plane 40, a radiating element in the form of a monopole 10 folded in a plane perpendicular to the reflector, loaded at its free extremity 16 by a capacitive element 30 and fed at a fixed and unique coupling point 14 situated near its other extremity 13, which is connected to earth. According to the invention, there are also provided: detector means 50, arranged on the supply line linking the transmitter to the coupling point, which are able to evaluate the tuning of the antenna to the transmission frequency, and, in the event of poor tuning, to deliver an error signal representing the direction of the misbalance; servocontrol means 60 able to vary the value of the capacitive element in order to return the resonance frequency of the antenna to the transmission frequency, in response to the error signal. <IMAGE>
