The invention relates to a device intended to remove articles such as can bases from bags. This device comprises a structure 34, 36, 38 intended to take a bag B and to move the articles which it contains longitudinally with respect to this bag in order to form a space or gap near the bottom of the bag. A cutting mechanism 310 cuts off the bag before the latter is taken by a device 44 which withdraws it from the stack of articles.
