The crop is pulled into the cutting cylinder (4) by gathering rollers and is cut in conjunction with the whirling blades and with fixed blades (5). The cut crop is pushed through compacting rollers (9,10) at the bottom of the blower duct (8) and is thrown out of the duct by an impeller (11). The crushing rollers condition the crop for storage in a compact space and crush any grains. The blower duct has a swivel joint (7) so that it can be directed into an adjacent trailer.
