The present invention relates to apparatuses of the type comprising two elements 2, 4 interacting with each other, such as cutting-out apparatuses or sharpening apparatuses. According to the invention, each of the elements 2, 4 comprises a support part 6 and a cutting part 8, the cutting part 8 being produced from ceramic; the support part 6 may be produced from metal or, alternatively, the elements 2, 4 may be produced entirely from ceramic.
