A tool holder for a finger-shaped cutting tool is proposed. The cutting tool serves to machine internal bore sections (45) of workpieces (17) mounted in a stationary position. Provided here in the tool holder is an inner part (26) which is pivotable about an axis (30) and to whose end projecting from the tool holder the cutting tool (36) is fastened and whose other end projecting into the tool holder is positively guided along guide surfaces running at an angle to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder. By relative displaceability between the drive shank (4) of the tool holder and a supporting body (10) supporting the inner part (26), the inner part is pivoted by means of positive guidance during the feed of the tool holder after bearing against a fixed point, and the cutting tool is brought into use. <IMAGE>
