Cutting device on a loading truck

The invention relates to a loading truck having a cutting device with an adjustable cutting length. To vary the cutting length, it has hitherto been necessary to pivot the knives outwards individually, the force of the springs of the overload protections having to be overcome. This is very time-consuming and requires great expenditure of force. It is also known to mount a plurality of knife rows in succession and to pivot these outwards completely, but this necessitates a considerable space requirement. It is therefore proposed to assign to the cutting device a pivotable crossmember (20), the axis of rotation of which coincides with the pivot axis (7) of the knives (6, 6a). A group of knives is connected to the pivotable crossmember (20) via the overload protection. During the outward pivoting of the crossmember (20), this group of knives (6a) which is connected to it is pivoted outwards, without the spring tensions of the springs (17a) of the overload protections being changed. A compact design and a cutting device which can be adjusted by hand without aids and in a short time are thus obtained. <IMAGE>
