PURPOSE:To shield completely part of a developing device which is exposed in the opening part of a casing by providing a cover member which is opened and closed freely to cover the opening part. CONSTITUTION:The upper part of a developing sleeve 12 is arranged exposed in the opening part 15a of the casing 15, and when the developing device 7 is drawn out of a copying machine frame while lifted and then placed on a mount surface 40, the lower end of a fork 20 is elevated in contact with the mount surface 40. Then, a lever 21 is elevated to turn a segment gear 32, and the cover 15 shields the developing sleeve 12 completely around a shaft 19 as a fulcrum. Therefore, the developing sleeve 12 is protected in safety against the sticking of foreign matter while the developing device is drawn out and stored, so that picture quality in reuse is maintained excellently. |
