Wheel for vehicles, in particular for wheelchairs and cycles, on whose rim a puncture-proof tyre made of elastomer material is arranged. The said tyre is clamped by means of a clamping belt which is clamped by means of a clamping lock. The winding shaft of the clamping lock is a hollow shaft which consists of two shaft parts which each form one section of the circumference of the winding shaft and together form at least one polygon for the positively engaging application of a polygonal spanner. The gearwheel is arranged secured against rotation as a separate component on the winding shaft.
