<??>The process for the preparation of riboflavin includes submerged cultivation with aeration of the riboflavin-producing microorganism of the genus Bacillus subtilis in a nutrient medium which contains a carbon source, a nitrogen source, mineral salts and growth stimulators, with subsequent isolation of the final product. The riboflavin-producing microorganism used according to the invention is the strain Bacillus subtilis VNIIGenetika 304/pMX45 which has been obtained by genetic manipulation and has been deposited in the Central'nyj muzej promyslennych mikroorganizmov (CMPM) Vsesojuznogo naucnoissledovatel'skogo instituta genetiki i selekcii promyslennych mikroorganizmov (VNIIGenetika), USSR, under the registration number CMPM B-2694.
