The invention relates to a yarn regulator for monitoring the yarn run on texturing machines. The yarn regulator is equipped with a yarn cutter which, in the event of a fault in the yarn run, for example a break of the yarn, cuts off and clamps the yarn on the entry side of the texturing machine. In order to cancel the clamping and bring the yarn cutter back into its initial position again, the signal activating the yarn cutter and coming from the output of the yarn regulator is returned automatically to its monoflop stage, with the result that the yarn regulator is switched into an inactive state.
