After the gases have transmitted heat to a cassette wall, the gases are forced downwards before passing upwards via a smoke pipe (9). During their passage downwards and then upwards, the gases are mixed with cool or secondary air which is heated by passage under an ash box (6) in the cassette (1). - A nozzle hole (8) is provided through which secondary air flows issue beneath the smoke pipe. A screen plate (7) surrounds the lower part of the smoke pipe and guides the combustion gases, producing an effective combustion process, and a mixing temp. which is below the max. permitted level at the entrance to the chimney. |
